Well maybe a lot more than a little! Why? Because the stripes are in again and will be popular more than ever. Striped trousers, stripe t-shirts, stripe jackets and so on… the fact is that the striped fabrics are in with a wide variety of colours and patterns! So now that stripes are getting this much trendy, why not talking about one of the best models of them? Do you know what I mean?! Yesssss, of course... stripe cigarette trousers. First of all, let me explain this: “What are cigarette trousers ?!” well I know that you know it very well and even better than me, but it would be a good idea to explain it for those who are not acknowledged about the fashion idioms: so cigarette trousers are women’s trousers (legging kind) with straight and very narrow legs that are also called straight leg trousers. These fantastic fashionable pieces are best worn at a length that keeps them dead straight, with no puckering at the base. Just imagine someone wearing a pair of straight leg trousers with its lower base part puckered around her ankle! It’s not nice, right? But well, if you choose the stripe’s width just right and the same or extremely different sizes and also use black colour in you stripes (it can be either black and white, black and red, black and blue or black and yellow) it will look actually very different and nice! Or if you want to give some middle eastern look mixed with your fine European style, just try it out with paisley patterned shirts (blouses) of the same colour as your trousers’ background colour and see the fantastic results you’ll get. The actual and most important rule here is to be careful with the colours you choose. As I said before a black combination would be perfect but with the mother colours (red, blue, yellow). If you add up even just one other colour to your combination, I’m sorry but you’ll turn to the greatest fashion failure! So your accessories, shoes and etc. also have to be the same as one of your stripes’ colour. I highly recommend using black in your shoes and accessories instead of the other colour combined.

The plainer the better!

I completely understand it if you don’t want to take risks and love to style more guaranteed clothes up. Plain tops and simple coloured clothes on top of a pair of side striped trousers are very useful for you. This way, you’ll have the details and the simplicity you love, all at once. Just pick the colour of your side stripes and use it on your jacket with a top the same colour as your trousers. Or just wear a top in the colour of your stripes without any other detailing. This will look fancy, modern and tres chique! For going one step further you can use the main mother colours or their darker or lighter tonalities (red, blue, yellow, mustard, aquamarine, pink and you name it)
