4 Exercises You Can Do At Home

So lockdown is being lifted sooner than we think, and our Google search history is now full of questions like: How to exercise at home? Right, girl? With gyms not set to open anytime soon and that summer bod srsly pending, fitness at home is no doubt going to become a reality very soon - if it isn’t already! Whether you’re looking for the best exercises to lose weight, or are simply wanting to update your workout routine with some fresh new ideas, we’ve rounded up some of our fave ways to workout at home. From famous leg exercises that’ll help create those killer pins, to the best ab exercises that’ll have you oozing with confidence in your new bikini, you’ll be ready to live your hot girl summer in no time, babe!

Ab Exercises

If you’re anythin’ like us and neglected your ab exercises back in, like, March, then it’s high time to put in the work and swap the sofa for an exercise mat - sorry, boo. Create a mini circuit consisting of sit-ups, crunches and planks to really target those lower abs and hide any evidence of one too many cheese cakes! Start off by doing around 20 reps and repeat 3 times for best results. Gradually build up your number of reps based on your tolerance and let the abs do the talkin’.

Leg Exercises

Leg day never felt so good, babe! Whilst we might not be squatting 20kg at the gym anytime soon, that doesn’t mean we can’t ease ourselves into it with some simple and effective leg exercises. We love lunges and squats for really strengthening those quads and perfecting that peach. Squat it like it’s hot and start by doing 2 sets of 10 reps. Hold a kettlebell or a similar weight at your chest to really dial up the difficulty. For lunges, begin by doing 2-3 sets of 10 on each side - add a weight to really take it up a notch.

Cardio Exercises

If you’re not a lover of running, but really wanna set hearts racing - oops, we mean your heart racing - then short cardio exercises are great for getting that blood flowing. Incorporate places in your home, such as the stairs, into your home workout. First warm up by doing some jumping jacks, we recommend around 20, then run (or walk) up your stairs 5-10 times to really get those legs working. Alternatively, turn up your fave jams and dance around the kitchen. Glass of wine in hand or not, it’s still cardio!

Arm Exercises

Arm exercises are the best - said no one, ever. Whilst you might hate arm exercises - we feel, ya - there’s nothin’ wrong with throwing a few into your workout every now and again. Add a few push ups to your regime for stronger arms that’ll look great in your new dress, surely that’s some motivation? We suggest trying 2 sets 10-20 pushups to really target those arms. Whilst push ups are most effective when practiced in a position similar to the plank, you can make this a lil’ easier by keeping your knees on the floor. Not so bad after all!
